Pregnancy week by week

Welcome! Congratulations on your pregnancy!
Pregnancy is a wonderfully exciting phase in a women’s life. You discover a baby is on the way and then, before you know it, nine months have passed and you’re the proud parents of a newborn girl or boy. In those nine months there’s plenty a mum-to-be can do to help ensure she gives her baby the best start in life. For each of the forty weeks of pregnancy, we have all the information you will need. We will guide you in your journey through those exciting nine months, right through birth and early years of your child.

Pregnancy is divided into three trimesters: first trimester is from 0-13 weeks; second trimester is from 14-26 weeks and third trimester is from 27-40 weeks. Pregnancy is dated from the first day of your last period.  A pregnancy lasts for 40 weeks. You can work out the due date by adding nine months and seven days to the first day of your last period. It is important to remember that your due date is only an estimate as only a small percentage of women actually deliver on their due date. Most babies are born anytime between 38 to 42 weeks of pregnancy.

As a member of our due date club, you can discuss your anxiety and your experience with other mums. You can also read about the latest medical research articles in our Recent Posts.

Each week of pregnancy includes a description of your growing baby, as well as an explanation of changes taking place in your body. Remember, each baby is unique and so are you! So don’t worry if what you feel doesn’t match our weekly guide!  You may experience some things earlier or later than when we have mentioned. So click on our pregnancy calendar or the pregnancy week by week on the top of the page and get started!
